Summary

The second UK Postgraduate Diversity Summit was hosted by the University of Leeds at Cloth Hall Court on 12 May 2026. The Summit theme, ‘Celebrating progress and planning next steps’, recognised the huge strides made toward enhancing equity in postgraduate study and researcher over recent years, as well as the value in fostering dialogue between a diverse range of stakeholders about where we go next by building on these successes.

At the 2026 Summit, delegates representing over 20 higher education institutions, the Office for Students (OfS), UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the UK Council for Graduate Education (UKCGE) and a range of sector organisations participated in themed interactive workshops to identify the structural changes they would like to see in postgraduate study and research and co-create potential approaches to realising this change.
